Cities & Stories - Beginning of Everything

- The Cities & Storie - idea has opened up experiments for new projects, consisting of sounds and images. As the series continues to evolve, it offers audiences a unique and engaging experience.

Music

Each music track in the series tells a story connected to dedicated photograph, capturing the thrill of travel and the vivid images that come to life with each step. Sermet Cakmak's Sound Diary practice, where he created tracks to reflect each day as if it were a movie scene, is the project's foundation.

Sound Finds The Soulmate Image

Cities & Stories 3, named Movies Never Made, was built up with a magical coincidence. Sermet Cakmak has seen the photos of Christopher Soukup in a magazine and contacted him immediately thinking that his photos perfectly reflect his soundtracks. Luckily, Christopher was curious about how his photos would sound at the same time.

Photography

Christopher Soukup, captures empty cityscapes and reflects his vision through mysterious atmospheres like an Edward Hopper painting. Soukup explains his style as ”I do want to create a space between calm and unease, which would capture the eyes of the audience and almost forces them to choose which feeling they want to take from the photograph."
