Ece Temelkuran – The Self Can Not Be Extinct
Video Canvas NFTs
Five Video Canvas NFTs Created by award-winning Turkish novelist and political commentator Ece Temelkuran with curator, art historian Mateja Pavlic for the visuals and sound design with Turboslow NFT Agency co-founder and visual artist Atil Altas.
Five unique NFT videos structured on Temelkuran’s self-searching, existentialist poems combined with various eye-catchy visual styles such as deep, earthy, intense, abstract and contrasty. Finally, with the catalyst effect of these elements, the dark-ambient sound design creates a sonic dome and takes you on a free-fall journey to yourself.
That voice says, “This is it.” Cassandra echoes from everywhere, “All will vanish. The world is no more. We are done and over with.”
What is there when all is over? The self. The self will be defending itself until the last human. Ah, even after that. The self clings to the beautiful to survive. The beauty is indestructible.
This is the poetry of the self, surviving beautifully. This is me giving birth to a second self to tell me “Don’t fear”. Don’t fear, I am your friend. I believe in you. Believe in me. This is the poetry of believing in the self even after the end.
I was. I am. You will be.
“Our new normal of constant turbulence calls for a new, multi-cord human voice. Because even if the entire hell is cut and pasted on Earth, even when no single trace of normality is left, the self will still be there, standing alone as always, asking, 'What now?
This set of Video Canvas NFTs is my answer to the question of the self. The word’s job is to prove the endurance of the fragile. When the beautiful and the humane are besieged, it is the word’s job to protect you, the humankind.
The Video Canvas NFTs are made to support your nape, so you can still keep your necks strong, long and straight.
As the solid, printed word slowly disintegrates, I enveloped my words in small images of serenity. So that you and I and the words, when this is all over and even when it is not, can still be intact.”
